TPO Re-Roof | Mazda Dealership | Ramon Roofing

TPO Re-Roof | Mazda Dealership | Ramon Roofing
Ramon Roofing continues to support long-term commercial clients like Hiley Automotive Group, a dealership network with locations across the country.
For this remodel and expansion project, our team was brought in to replace the aging roofing system on one of their Texas dealerships, all while the business remained fully open and operational.
Full Roof Removal & Deck Repairs
Once the existing roof was removed, our crew discovered areas of rotted and rusted metal decking. While a full deck replacement wasn’t necessary, we carefully identified and replaced only the affected areas.
Sourcing the right materials from ACT Metal Deck Supply, we ensured the new sections matched the existing structure to maintain structural consistency.
Improved Drainage with Tapered Insulation
With the substrate restored, we mechanically attached a full Poly ISO tapered insulation system, designed to promote proper drainage across the entire surface.
This type of system is especially critical for low-slope commercial buildings like auto dealerships, where standing water can lead to long-term issues.
We then installed 250 squares of fully adhered Carlisle 60mil white TPO membrane, offering energy efficiency, water resistance, and long-term durability.
Business as Usual, With Safety First
This project required extensive coordination and planning, as the dealership remained open throughout construction. With a working sales floor and active service department, safety and cleanliness were critical.
To protect customers, employees, and vehicles:
- Interior plastic barriers were installed beneath the roof deck to catch dust and debris
- Traffic control zones were clearly marked to prevent foot and car traffic in active work areas
- Ramon Roofing crews worked in close communication with the dealership team to avoid service disruptions

FAQs
What type of roofing system was installed on the Mazda dealership?
Ramon Roofing installed 250 squares of fully adhered Carlisle 60mil white TPO membrane. The system was designed for long-term durability, water resistance, and energy efficiency on a low-slope commercial roof.
Was the dealership open during the roofing project?
Yes. The dealership remained fully open and operational during the remodel and expansion project. Ramon Roofing coordinated closely with the dealership team to help minimize disruptions to customers, employees, sales operations, and the service department.
Why was TPO used for this commercial roof?
TPO is commonly used on low-slope commercial buildings because it offers strong water resistance, durability, and energy efficiency. For this dealership, the white Carlisle 60mil TPO membrane provided a reliable solution for long-term roof performance.
What repairs were needed after the old roof was removed?
After removing the existing roof, Ramon Roofing found areas of rotted and rusted metal decking. A full deck replacement was not needed, so the crew replaced only the affected areas to restore the substrate.
How did Ramon Roofing match the existing metal decking?
Ramon Roofing sourced replacement materials from ACT Metal Deck Supply to ensure the new sections matched the existing structure. This helped maintain structural consistency across the roof deck.
What is tapered insulation?
Tapered insulation is an insulation system designed to create slope on a low-slope roof. On this project, Ramon Roofing mechanically attached a full Poly ISO tapered insulation system to help promote proper drainage across the roof surface.
Why is drainage important on a commercial roof?
